Rossi buys a Ferrari.

To celebrate his assumed signing with Ducati, Valentino Rossi has bought himself a Ferrari 458 Italia. The report comes from Maurizio Bruscolini, longtime reporter for the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian picked up his new ride - costing 197 thousand Euro - from Stefano Domenicali, sporting director for the Maranello marque.

He also had a chance to meet with Fernando Alonso, with whom he had a small war of words a few years ago (Alonso claimed he could be competitive in MotoGP if given enough time...) about a proposed F.1-Rally-MotoGP challenge, which they now might have a chance to organize (as they will have the same sponsors).

The nine time world champion's new toy is yellow, of course, with a black roof and wheels, and the obligatory #46 logo on the door frame.

Rossi has raced a Ferrari 430 GT3 (see foto) in the 6 hours of Vallelunga, finishing 11th despite a small pit fire.
