New OnBoard Camera for Rossi.

Dorna debuted an new type of onboard camera on Valentino Rossi's bike, a special modification completely designed "in house."

The championship organizers, who introduced the posterior onboard camera in 2003, at that time on the Honda of Rossi, have taken another step forward with this latest creation at the Sachsenring.

The new camera features an electric motor mated to a gyroscope, which works to keep the camera level as the bike leans over. The resulting visual effect is especially interesting because only the bike and the rider are leaning over, as opposed to the entire frame of the shot. Some have commented that it is similar to watching a video game.

This new development was tested thoroughly by Dorna, and will be used for the international feed from the current Grand Prix through the rest of the season.
